Gio Ponti and the Co-cathedral of Taranto - Letters to the client Guglielmo Motolese (1964-1979)

In December 1970, the co-cathedral 'Gran Madre di Dio' designed by Gio Ponti was inaugurated in Taranto. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of that event, the correspondence between the architect and the client, Archbishop Guglielmo Motolese of Taranto, kept in the latter's personal archive, is published.

The letters, written between 1964 and 1979, shed light on the long artistic, spiritual, intellectual and human itinerary that led to the realisation of an architectural work that is considered one of the most significant of the 20th century and that its creator considered the most challenging but also the most rewarding of his long career.
