Semicircular Armchair D.151.4 - Molteni

The D.151.4 semi-circular armchair is a classic and elegant piece of furniture, perfect as a living room or bedroom armchair. Available in leather or the fabrics of the Molteni collection, this removable semi-circular armchair is characterised by its enveloping structure with comfortable armrests and its solid wood feet with brass finial.

The D.151.4 armchair was originally born out of Gio Ponti's direct experience in four ocean liners that were renovated or built from scratch after the war, between 1949 and 1951: Conte Grande, Conte Biancamano, Andrea Doria and Giulio Cesare. It was always a matter of dressing, not designing, these liners. Thus in these years the ships furnished by Ponti, who had always been passionate about the theme of naval decoration, became 'ships laden with art, travelling heralds of Italy'.

Product with completely removable covers in both fabric and leather versions. Structure finishes in solid canaletto walnut.
