Gio Ponti - Inox Centerpiece - Cm 24
Its design dates back to the time when Gio Ponti seemed to have unified, for the first time, his theory: that of the finished form. Years in which the 60-year-old master, in each of his designs, validated the form by giving it structural invention, essentiality, expressiveness and illusiveness.
Between Ponti's theoretical invention, the richness and fervour of 1950s design and the construction of the Pirelli Tower, the new Sambonet table centrepiece came to life.
An unprecedented and extremely characterising project due to its perfect symmetrical shape, the Gio Ponti Centro Tavola was conceived to be an object with many lives, going beyond its original function.
Entirely in stainless steel, but also available in silver-plated steel, the table centrepiece consists of two individual cups with feet that, together, make up an almost perfectly spherical element. If separately the cups can accommodate scenic fruits or flowers, together they form a single, striking piece of architecture. A fascinating furnishing object, a work of art to be interpreted in one's own living space and experienced as a true luxury.
