The MIC International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza continues its programme of highlighting the personalities and great manufactures that have built ceramic Made in Italy. The publication represents the first monographic volume dedicated to Gio Ponti (Milan, 1891-1979), one of the greatest popularizers of Made in Italy since the 1920s, when he became artistic director of Richard Ginori, initiating a renewal of production. An architect, designer and intellectual, he was a reference for the constitution of an Italian "style" in the decorative arts: this volume is an unmissable opportunity to explore the central role he played in the cultural debate and in the definition of Italian rationalism.
