Dezza 48 - Armchair with headrest
Designed in 1965, the Dezza armchair sums up some of the most important design canons of Ponti, both formal (see the leg with its characteristic tapered triangular section) and methodological, thanks to its revolutionary “system modularity” by means of a limited number of pieces to be assembled.
Note that when he designed the Dezza armchair and its variants, Ponti was already 74 years old. Since 1957, he has been living on the top floor of the house he designed in Via Dezza, Milan.
The iconic Dezza armchair, designed by Gio Ponti, features a seasoned beechwood frame. The Poltrona 48 comes with an integrated goose down headrest in the backrest.
The armchair is available upholstered in Pelle Frau®, in a leather/ponyskin combination, or in fabrics from the catalog. Among these, the Redevance printed wool satin fabric is available, whose graphic pattern was designed by Ponti himself. The finishes for the legs are either black or white open-pore lacquered ash and Canaletto walnut.
The seat's suspension is achieved with elastic webbing, while the padding is in expanded polyurethane foam.
