Pompei by Molteni&C is a multifunctional element with a strong visual impact, capable of transforming itself according to orientation and context of use.

Designed by Gio Ponti, this object represents a combination of function and formal experimentation, fitting into the path of rediscovery and enhancement of the master's archive designs, in collaboration with his heirs. When positioned with the tubes facing upwards, Pompei can take on the role of a candelabrum or sculptural vase. Turning it upside down, however, it becomes a decorative element, an evocative centrepiece that furnishes and intrigues. The structure stands on just three support points, a detail that suggests references to studies of balance and tension typical of the most daring architecture. The object, made of polished metal, calls to mind classical suggestions reinterpreted through Ponti's modern and visionary gaze. Its geometric and rigorous forms lend themselves to multiple readings, merging art and function in a single scenic presence.
